I grew up in a small town in upstate New York. A mad scientist by day and a writer by night, I live in southern California with my wife, two sons and Chocolate Lab named Buzz.
I’ve always been interested in books and have collected boxes of them over the years. Although The Chronos Series is a Fantasy-Adventure series, my favorite books to read are the recognized literary classics. My favorite book of all time is The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck, and I’ve read it almost 12 times. Other titles that grace my collection are All's Quiet on the Western Front, The Red Badge of Courage, The Old Man and the Sea, and even a first edition Hemingway, For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Inspiration for my characters comes from those closest to me, my family mostly. Like most authors, I’ve peppered my stories with the familiar traits, names and even odd quirks of my family and friends. My wife is in the Hounds of Set (and she truly is the prettiest girl in school) and my oldest son Zach is in Loki’s Wrath. But the question everyone wants to know is where the inspiration for Alex came from. Alex is a unique blend of two sources: myself and my youngest son, Mason. His physical characteristics, tall and thin, awkwardness, clumsiness, gangly, big feet, all elbows and knees, is every bit Mason. He’s a whirlwind of raw energy. Alex’s endless sarcasm, dry sense of humor and inane ability to tease everyone around him, is all me.
In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible, spending time with my family, meeting my fans, creating my next novel, and am currently training for a marathon.
